Send Us Your Data!
We want to find out what’s washing up around the Firth of Forth and whether the same types of litter are turning up in different places.
After the Big Forth Cleanup, we’ll be asking everyone who takes part to complete a short online survey about their clean-up. One of the things we’re particularly interested in is your top 5 items found.
By collecting this information from lots of different locations, we can start to build a picture of the litter affecting the Forth, helping us identify common problems, potential sources and issues that may be specific to particular areas.
What will we ask?
The survey will include:
- Where was your clean?
- What were your top 5 items found?
- Approximately how much rubbish did you collect?
- How many bags did you fill?
- Upload your photos
- Did you notice anything unusual or interesting?
- Were there any problems or items you couldn’t safely remove?
- Did you find any particularly large or unusual items?
- Anything else you’d like to tell us about your clean?
Don’t have scales?
No problem! If you have luggage scales at home, they can be a handy way to weigh your collected bags. An approximate weight is absolutely fine, we know it won’t be possible for everyone to weigh their rubbish.
Every clean tells us something. No matter what amount you pick up, your observations can help us understand what is happening around the Firth of Forth and where further action might be needed.
Organising a beach clean?
If you are a community group, organisation, school, business, or volunteer group planning a beach clean and would like your event featured on the map, please contact bella@balancedhorizon.org with details (location & group name) of your event.
