Scottish Coastal Clean Up: Our plans for 2026
As the evenings stretch a little longer and the warmth of the sun begins to return, it finally feels like we can shake off the grip of winter and look ahead to a busy and exciting summer season.

At Scottish Coastal Clean up, we’re incredibly lucky to have a community of dedicated volunteers who go above and beyond to protect our coastline.
Walk along a Scottish beach after a storm, and you’ll likely spot ropes, bottles, and fishing gear tangled in the sand. These fragments may seem small, but they tell a bigger story, one where citizen science is helping protect our seas.
The world had been watching closely as UN negotiations on a landmark treaty to end plastic pollution closed last week.
Back in May, we spent a few incredible days on the Isle of Skye taking part in the Bracadale Blitz and what an amazing few days they were!
In April 2025, we returned to the stunning Coigach peninsula in the northwest Highlands for a few days of beach cleaning with North West Highland Beach cleans and the local community.
At the start of April, the SCCU team headed out on our first beach-cleaning trip of the year, to the Isle of Coll.
